Colin has a passion for great food, prepared freshly to order, just the way you like it. Place your order at the bar and pick a seat.
The menu changes frequently but here is a sample just to tickle your palate:
Homemade Lasagne - Made with locally sourced minced beef and vegetables, served with a cheesy topping, garlic bread and salad.
Chicken Curry - Colin's special recipe served with fresh rice or chips - or both! Not too hot but very tasty.
Local Faggots - Delicious and served with chips, peas and a rich gravy.
Fish and Chips - Your choice of haddock in a lemon and cracked black pepper crumb, or crispy battered cod, with chips and peas.
Ham, Egg and Chips - Everyone's favourite! Succulent local ham, two eggs and chips!
Chilli con Carne - Spicy minced beef, veg and red kidney beans. Enjoy it with rice, chips or both! Tastes good on a jacket potato too. Hot stuff though...
Parsnip, Sweet Potato and Chestnut Bake (V) - Served with chips or garlic bread and salad garnish. A tasty vegetarian dish, topped with cheese if you like too.
Ploughmans Lunch (V) - The Retreat's legendary Death-by-Ploughmans version with mature Cheddar, Brie and Stilton, pickles, salad and a crusty roll with butter.
Ham and Cheese Platter - Local ham and mature Cheddar with a fresh crusty roll and butter, fresh salad and pickles.
Soup of the Day - You never know what you're gonna git!
Jacket Potatoes - Served with a fresh salad and a choice of toppings (Coronation Chicken, Tuna Mayonnaise, Cheddar Cheese, Beans, Local Ham, Pickles).
Burgers - Beef, Cheese and Beef, Cheese and Bacon, Chilli con Carne, Stilton... all served with chunky chips and salad garnish.
